Apple has released iOS 26.6.1, iPadOS 26.6.1, and macOS Tahoe 26.6.2, delivering security fixes for vulnerabilities affecting its mobile and desktop platforms.
The updates address security issues involving potential code execution and kernel memory handling, making prompt deployment important for both individual users and enterprise administrators.
The security releases were published on August 17, 2026, alongside updates for older iPhone and iPad hardware, Apple Vision Pro, Apple TV, and Apple Watch devices.
Apple Patches Code Execution and Kernel Memory Flaws
Apple’s public security-release tracker identifies iOS and iPadOS 26.6.1 as the latest software versions for supported modern devices, while macOS Tahoe 26.6.2 is the newest release for Macs running the Tahoe operating system.
Code-execution vulnerabilities are among the most significant software flaws because they can enable an attacker to run unauthorized instructions on a targeted device.

iOS 26.6.1 and iPadOS 26.6.1 are available for:

- iPad Pro 12.9-inch, third generation and later
- iPad Pro 11-inch, first generation and later
- iPad Air, third generation and later
- iPad, eighth generation and later
- iPad mini, fifth generation and later
Apple also issued iOS 18.7.10 and iPadOS 18.7.10 for older supported hardware, including the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, and seventh-generation iPad.

macOS Tahoe 26.6.2 is available to Mac systems running macOS Tahoe. Apple additionally listed visionOS 26.6.1, though technical vulnerability details were not yet published at the time of the release listing.
