CrowdStrike Launches SafeMind Frontier Cybersecurity Models Built With NVIDIA Nemotron

CrowdStrike has launched SafeMind, a family of purpose-built cybersecurity models and agentic AI harnesses designed to help defenders identify, validate, and remediate threats inside the Falcon platform.

Announced during Fal.Con 2026 in Las Vegas, SafeMind represents CrowdStrike’s move away from relying solely on general-purpose frontier models for security operations.

The company said the new system was created specifically for cyber defense, combining offensive simulation, defensive response, and continuous model improvement within a closed-loop architecture.

CrowdStrike Launches SafeMind Frontier Cybersecurity Models

Developed by CrowdStrike’s newly created Cyber Superintelligence Lab, SafeMind is an agentic system that acts on security findings rather than simply producing alerts, summaries, or recommendations.

SafeMind uses a dual-model design centered on two specialized components: Red Tempest and Blue Solano.

Red Tempest serves as the offensive model. It is designed to emulate AI-enabled adversaries, identify weaknesses in an environment, and test possible attack paths that could lead to compromise.

The model can help security teams assess how an attacker may chain together vulnerabilities, misconfigurations and exposed identities. Blue Solano acts as the defensive counterpart.

It uses protection measures informed by CrowdStrike’s incident response experience to detect malicious activity, investigate risk, and apply remediation actions.

CrowdStrike said the model is grounded in real-world defensive workflows rather than generic language-model reasoning. The two components operate within SafeMind harnesses that continuously test offensive techniques against defensive controls.

In effect, Red Tempest seeks to bypass security measures, while Blue Solano attempts to detect, contain, and remediate such actions. CrowdStrike said this loop enables the models to improve detection logic and response outcomes over time.

CrowdStrike said SafeMind’s primary differentiator is its training data. The models draw on telemetry generated by Falcon sensors, threat intelligence, Falcon Complete managed detection and response annotations, and approximately 15 years of incident response field experience.

This approach gives the models access to operational security context, including adversary behavior, endpoint activity, detection signals, and response decisions.

CrowdStrike argues that cybersecurity models trained on breach and incident data can deliver more useful results in adversarial environments than general models trained mainly on broad internet-scale text.

The company developed SafeMind with NVIDIA, using the NVIDIA Nemotron open model family as its foundation. CoreWeave’s AI Cloud provides infrastructure for SafeMind training and inference workloads.

“Cybersecurity is becoming one of the most compute-intensive applications of AI,” NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said, as attackers and defenders increasingly use automated systems at scale.

CrowdStrike’s internal testing found that SafeMind achieved a 29% higher detection rate than leading frontier and open-source models. The company also claimed six-times-faster end-to-end remediation and 99% cost savings across detection and remediation workflows.

CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz said the future of security will be shaped by AI that can defeat threats, not merely identify them.

Dr. Bartley Richardson, CrowdStrike’s chief AI and autonomous systems officer, said the company now controls the security AI stack “from sensor to harness to model.”

Standalone SafeMind models and harnesses will become available through Project QuiltWorks for trusted enterprise customers. CrowdStrike said the program will allow organizations to integrate its agentic security capabilities beyond native Falcon deployments.
