Juventus Football Club’s X account was compromised by threat actors

The unauthorized users posted a fake announcement claiming that Turkish footballer Arda Güler, who currently plays for Real Madrid, had joined Juventus.

This unexpected news caused confusion and excitement among fans of both clubs, as no such transfer deal had been reported.

False Announcement and Fan Reaction

According to reports from HackManac, the false announcement read, “Welcome to Juventus, Arda Güler! The rising star of football is now part of the Juventus family.

Ready to make history together on this new journey?” This message, along with multiple tweets in Turkish, quickly spread across social media, leaving fans perplexed.

The announcement was particularly surprising given that Juventus had not shown any interest in Güler during the current transfer window.

Fans were left scratching their heads at the unexpected news.

Official Response and Clarification

Juventus swiftly addressed the situation through their official Italian X account, confirming that the English account had been hacked and urging followers to disregard the false information.

They stated, “Our Juventus English account has been compromised. Please ignore the false information being published on this account”.

Despite the initial confusion, fans were relieved to learn that the announcement was a prank and not an actual transfer.

Juventus is currently working to resolve the issue and prevent future breaches.

Meanwhile, Arda Güler continues his career at Real Madrid, where he has been under the spotlight since his move from Barcelona last summer.
