Uniswap Labs Launches Record-Breaking $15.5M Bug Bounty for v4 Protocol
Uniswap Labs has announced the launch of a groundbreaking $15.5 million bug bounty program, marking the largest such initiative in history, aimed at identifying vulnerabilities in its latest protocol upgrade, Uniswap v4.
This ambitious program seeks to ensure the security and robustness of Uniswap v4, which introduces significant advancements in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space.
Uniswap v4: A New Era in DeFi
Uniswap v4 represents a pivotal evolution in the Uniswap Protocol, transforming it into a comprehensive developer platform.

This version introduces “hooks,” customizable contracts that allow developers to modify how pools, swaps, fees, and liquidity provider (LP) positions interact.
These hooks enable the creation of innovative features on top of the Uniswap Protocol, making it more versatile and user-friendly.
Additionally, Uniswap v4 offers substantial cost savings, with pools expected to be 99.99% cheaper to create and significant reductions in multi-hop swap costs.
Commitment to Security
Uniswap Labs is committed to ensuring the highest level of security for its protocol.
The $15.5 million bug bounty is an extension of this commitment, offering rewards for discovering unique vulnerabilities in the Uniswap v4 core contracts.
The program’s scope is limited to these core contracts, excluding third-party contracts or issues already identified in previous audits and reviews.
The initiative follows extensive security evaluations, including nine independent audits and a $2.35 million security competition involving over 500 researchers, none of whom found critical vulnerabilities.
The tiered reward system offers up to $15.5 million for identifying critical vulnerabilities that necessitate code changes.
High-risk bugs could earn up to $1 million, while medium-risk issues are eligible for $100,000 payouts.
This structured approach ensures that even minor vulnerabilities are addressed promptly.
Participation and Reporting
To participate in the bug bounty program, researchers must submit their findings via the v4 Bug Bounty Page on Cantina within 24 hours of discovery.
Submissions should include detailed information on how to reproduce the bug and its potential implications.
Importantly, all reports must remain confidential until resolved to qualify for rewards.
The launch of this unprecedented bug bounty program underscores Uniswap’s dedication to maintaining its position as a leader in DeFi innovation while prioritizing user safety and protocol integrity.
As Uniswap v4 prepares for deployment, this initiative invites the global developer community to contribute to its security and success.
