Cyber Press researchers have uncovered a significant data allegedly breach at Toyota US, revealing a substantial data leak that has resulted in the unauthorized leak of approximately 240 GB of sensitive information. Alarmingly, this data has been made freely available online, posing serious security risks.

The ZeroSevenGroup, a notorious group of threat actors, leaked a vast amount of Toyota’s data on a well-known data leak forum.

Threat actors claimed in forums that they have breached the Tayota US branch systems and stated that “We have hacked a branch in United State to one of the biggest automotive manufacturer in the world ( TOYOTA ).”

“We are really glad to share the files with you here for free.The data size: 240 GB, Contents: Everything like Contacts, Finance, Customers, Schemes, Employees, Photos, DBs, Network infrastructure, Emails, and a lot of perfect data”.

The leaked data allegedly contains a wide array of sensitive information, including:

  • Contacts: Personal and professional contact details.
  • Finance: Financial records and transactions.
  • Customers: Customer data and profiles.
  • Schemes: Business plans and strategies.
  • Employees: Employee records and personal information.
  • Photos: Images related to various operations.
  • Databases: Extensive database records.
  • Network Infrastructure: Details of the internal network setup.
  • Emails: Internal and external communications.

Due to its public availability, we can observe that forum users are already accessing the files several times that contains the following data.

This breach also includes a tool known as AD-Recon, which provides detailed reconnaissance of the target network, including passwords and other sensitive network information.

The exposure of such comprehensive data poses significant risks to Toyota and its customers, employees, and partners.
